Dr.Bolen

Dr. Sonia Bolen- Owner/Veterinarian

Sonia grew up right here in Blue Ridge, Va, attending Lord Botetourt High School. After high school she went on to Virginia Tech to complete a Bachelor's degree and then Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. She has been in practice for more than 20 years, but has been working in a veterinary hospital since she was a young girl. Dr. Bolen’s dream of being a vet was pretty clear as a young girl. She has worked hard to make that dream come true.  She is married to Scott Bolen, a Vinton native. In her free time, when she isn’t chasing her 11 year old twins around, she likes to travel, read, and enjoy friends and family. Dr. Bolen adopted “Valentine”, a 5 year old pit bull mix. She also has a 1 year old cat named "Rex" , as well as "Ember" she is the baby of the fur family. 



Allison “Allie” – Practice Manager/ Vet Tech 

Allie grew up in Bedford County, graduating from Staunton River High School in 2010. She knew immediately that her love was in the Veterinary field. She has worked at various hospitals, in various positions before coming to Parkway Veterinary Hospital. She married her Best Friend Jason Wood in June 2017. In her free time she likes spending it outdoors, floating on the river and riding four wheelers with friends. Another huge hobby of hers is interior decorating, she loves working around her house.  Allie has 7 cats, Chloe, Faith, Ava, Archey, Avery and Toby her barn cat.  She even has one Sphinx cat “Penny” .


Michelle - Receptionist 

Michelle

Michelle grew up in a small town in WV. She started her veterinary career in TN in 1998, working in a large animal practice. Since then she has worked with large, small, and exotic animals. Michelle has a passion animal rescue. She moved to Roanoke in 2013 and since then, she has worked for and with shelters all around Roanoke. Michelle even met her husband because he adopted a puppy from a litter that she was fostering. Michelle and her husband currently rescue chickens and have 6 large coops full of about 100 chickens.  She has 2 children. Michelle shares a home with 5 dogs Penny, Moe, Tuula, Wrigley and Toby. She also has 6 cats Princess, Daisy, Zoey, Mally, Mercury and Marble. She also has a rabbit named Ajax.




Taylor

Taylor – Vet Assistant

Taylor grew up in Bedford County Va. She graduated in 2017 from Parkway Christian Academy. She married her husband Caleb in July of 2018 and is now living in the Grandin area. Her career goal is becoming a veterinarian. She is currently taking pre -requisite courses at Virginia Western Community College. In the future she is wanting to go to Virginia Tech for the Veterinary Program. When Taylor is not studying or working she enjoys hiking, fishing, painting and cooking. She also loves spending time with her family and fur babies. She has a cat named "Mittens". She also has 2 dogs Cookie and Katie. She is also a large animal person, in which she has 2 goats Zachary and Chloe.



Jordan

Jordan - Vet Assistant 

Jordan was born and raised in Virginia Beach, VA. She then relocated with her mother to Charlotte, NC. Jordan then moved to Roanoke, Va. Jordan graduated from William Byrd High School in 2016. After high school she went to Virginia Western Community College to work towards a degree in Psychology, since has had a change of heart. She now lives with her boyfriend Caleb and Best Friend Bailey in the Grandin area. In Jordan's free time she likes painting, reading , trying to understand everything she can about the world and of course taking care of her fur babies and her two snakes. Jordan is definitely a reptile lover she has a 4 year old Corn snake named Lector and a juvenile Blue Eyed Leucistic Python named Cicero. Jordan is hoping that one day she will become a herpetologist and open her own wildlife sanctuary.  Outside of her reptiles Jordan also has a cat named Milo and of course her sweet dog Layla.


Whitney

Whitney - Vet Assistant 

Whitney grew up here in Vinton Va. She moved to Washington D.C and there started her career in animal medicine. Then she decided to move back to Roanoke and continue her career in animal medicine. Whitney loves spending time with her 8 year old daughter Skylar. In her free time she loves traveling to all kinds of places, and going to music festivals. Whitney has three Siberian huskies Aspen, Ellie, and Ember. She also has two very spoiled cats Duck and Pickles. Whitney is very excited to continue her career with animals here with us at Parkway Veterinary Hospital.
